Born in Barberton, Ohio, Kathleen Morrone graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Design from the University of Cincinnati – College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning. She practiced as a fashion designer in New York City from 1982 through 1994. Kathleen went on to work in interior design in 1995 participating in the development and home designs of Lake Ridge Subdivision in Southbury, Ct.
Having established her own office, Morrone Studio Indesign, in 2005, Kathleen continues to expand her business through renovations, new construction, furnishings, decorating ideas and space planning by offering a comprehensive and extensive residential & commercial interior design service.
Kathleen’s manner yields a distinctive impression; yet each design shows its own fresh and unique tale. Her projects are individually conceived and meticulously crafted. Kathleen approaches her designs with bold optimism, yet is practical and reflective.
A little more about me;
At the age of 9, I started sewing and making patterns for my doll’s clothes and it wasn’t long before I started creating coats, suits and bed linens. As a teenager, I was staying home sewing instead of going out to parties, an obvious foreshadowing of everything design incorporates.
My philosophy towards Life and Design; both are made of choices.
Either you happily recommend the best option for your client, or you give preference to your own items first.
Either you believe in what you sell, or you don't.
Either you treat your best partners better, or you treat everyone the same.
Either you shade the truth when it's painful to do otherwise, or you consistently share what's important.
Either you always keep your promises or you don't.
Either you give the best price the first time, or you make the buyer jump through hoops to get there.
Unless someone cares, things start to fray around the edges.
And I care.
Which is precisely what makes it valuable.
In my down time? I love gardening, spending time with my youngest kids going to their tennis tournaments and going to Starbucks to visit my oldest daughter at work while enjoying a cup of java!

"Interior design should not be considered an experience for only the well-to-do, but for anyone interested in improving their lives by surrounding themselves with what brings them joy. For me, great design is a healthy blend of smart investment items mixed with offbeat selections, realizing the space's full potential with a breath of fresh air."
INTERIOR DESIGN l CONNECTICUT
I love talking to people and listening to their stories.
I love coffee and all the colors it comes in.
I’m fascinated by shape, proportion and scale; I have a ‘gift’ for fitting things together and in their place.
I always look to nature for inspiration. It is the perfect aesthetic in every way, crafted or millions of years to the pinnacle of form and function.
I’m slightly over the edge with organization, very efficient, and precise.
Caring is my competitive advantage, and it is an advantage that takes a lot effort. I care about being better than “good enough”. Caring involves raising that bar to the point where the team has to stretch.
I expect my team to stretch.
I hope when you get to know me, I have earned the position of the honest broker which is often a time-consuming task.
Losing it takes just a moment.
